The Impact of Music

You ever experienced a feeling that couldn’t be placed in words? A universal emotional language that can allow you to not only listen but be able to feel. A powerhouse tempo that has the special ability to pump us up or calm us down.

This sensation is known as music; which is the combination of sound and sound vibrations. We take pleasure in bathing our ears to certain frequencies of sound, modulated at various tempos. It can even parallel our emotions to fit whatever message it speaks throughout a song. People listen to music to manage their mood, bond with people, or use it as a distraction from daily life.

Music is a way of life relating to the way people will feel. There is an emotion that sparks inside of you that only music can invoke. Its form of expression Is what helps to connect, assimilate, and convey emotions that words cannot. The magnificent language of music is one of its own even addressing physical, emotional and social needs of individuals through its therapeutic melodies. Its unique link to our emotions is an extremely effective  stress management tool.

Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies. While the music absorbs our attention, it acts as a distraction at the same time to help explore our emotions. It is a great aid to meditation and helps prevent the mind from wandering.

Certain music is appropriate for mediation as it can help the mind slow down and initiate the relaxation response. Music with no structure can be unsettling which is why listening to gentle music with familiar melodies can be of some comfort. It can also reduce anxiety and improve quality of life. When you are feeling down in the dumps music is that kick you need to help pick you up. It places you in a better mood and allows you to get in touch with your feelings.

Music has the power to do so much that we often take advantage of the important presence it has in our daily lives. Our brain activity and even our bodily functions correspond with music by stimulating our brain to improve verbal, communication, and visual skills.

Loosing yourself in the right music is an effortless way to reframe your situation. The soothing sounds of melodies are passages that can open the soul of the universe. Music is that salvation and antidote used to tame most psychological challenges people face today. How many times have you heard a song and you are suddenly transformed back to where you shared your first listen with it? Musical melodies can trigger thoughts and memories of our favorite place or person.

Some of our greatest joys in life include music from marriages, workout sessions, or just your morning commute to work blasting your favorite tune in the car. Even though music nurses some deep wounds we inflict in life, it can also be used for a journal of things such as improving the way we live, eat and even think.
